"This pine tar rag was a great purchase. I always put pine tar on my bats because the more relaxed you can grip the bat, the better. I tried using another company's liquid pine tar and a friend's pine tar stick, but neither worked very well. This pine tar gives you great grip and the rag is the best and easiest way to apply it. Like I would expect most pine tar products to, it does dry out after a season or so; but thankfully the price makes that a non-issue."
