HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GLOVE

Date : February 14, 2015

"My son has been playing tournament baseball for years and is also playing for his high school team. He is primarily a 1st baseman and catcher 2nd. He loves this glove. It broke in well and its length allows for great range. The quality is wonderful and the leather is durable yet flexible. He has received several compliments. We liked this Heart of the Hide so much we also purchased the HOH catchers mit also. The quality of these gloves have assisted in elevating his game. You can not go wrong with this glove."

Awesome Glove

Date : June 02, 2013

"This glove is amazing! Had it for at least two months now. Was originally worried about how it'd look with the mesh back, but it looks great. Get tons of compliments on it. Super clean look with the all black leather and white stitching. But the best part about the glove isn't even the looks, it's the functionality of the palm pad. When you play with high caliber guys, you also play against great players who are fast running to first. This means infielders have to field the ball without regripping it and throw it as hard as possible. This can force the ball to tail in unpredictable ways and you might not catch it perfectly every time. This is where the palm pad shines in the one percent of plays where you need it most. When you catch it awkwardly in the palm, it not only saves your hand from the hard throw, but actually reduces the momentum so it can't pop out as easily. The palm pad uses the same technology to deaden the ball's impact as catcher's chest protectors. Best way to break in is using nokona glove conditioner or vasoline because unlike oil, they won't seep through the leather and into the padding to make the glove too heavy. Then wrap the glove like the "justballgloves" break in video on their website to form the pocket. The key is to make sure the parts of the glove touch while it's wrapped closed. All the way from the top where the thumb and pinky would meet to the bottom where the heel should break right in the middle equally between each side the the heel. You want the heel to break on both sides where the fingers start and right in the center of the heel. Then use a mallet and play catch to finish forming the pocket. Then when not using the glove, re-wrap it closed repeatedly until it's broke in. Recondition with nokona glove conditioner or vasoline at least at the end and beginning of each season. Should last for years of play."
