Solid build

"I received the face guard rather quickly, kudos to Rawlings in that regard. The supplied hardware was complete (no missing pieces) and the assembly with my little ones helmet was rather painless. The only negative I see is from the weight of the guard. The face guard is steel and tends to be on the heavy side. After the little one puts her helmet on to bat it drops over her eyes. She is constantly pushing the helmet up to see while batting, as well as running the bases."

Required but front-heavy
Date : April 16, 2010
"Weight of the face guard is as great or greater than the helmet, causing the whole unit to be front-heavy and fall down, limiting vision. It would be much better if the face guard could be made lighter with equivalent strength."

A perfect fit for a pink batting helmet!
Date : February 01, 2010
"When my little princess wanted to start T-Ball, she insisted everything be pink! Bats, hats, gloves and helmets in pink are easy enough to find, but Rawlings is the only one making pink face guards that I could find. It's a perfect fit to their excellent cool flow helmet, and the matching pink color made my daughter very happy. It was easy to attach, and I'm more than confident in Rawlings quality and ability to protect my daughter from injury. I'm grateful they took the time and effort to realize the impsortance of the little details, like how the color of the face guard can matter to a little girl."

Protective Mask
Date : September 24, 2009
"I purchased this mask online for a helmet when I could not find the correct mask at local stores. THe mask os specifically for the helmet I purchase, yet when I tried to put it on it did not fit correctly. It took almost 1 hour to get the mask on and to attach it I had to bend the helmet outward. I would have thought that the mask could be attached easily, since it was made for the helmet, but I was wrong. My suggestion would be to purchase a helmet that already has a mask."

Good quality, very safe
Date : September 24, 2009
"I would agree with some of the other comments. Tough to put on, the instructions were not detailed enough, the mask is too heavy for the helmet , but I feel it is very safe and now she can wear her own helmet to her games and not have to share with other kids. Overall, a good buy."

Challenging to attach
Date : September 23, 2009
"It takes two people to hold the helmet in place, position the guard right, and insert the screws through the hardware. It takes some muscle. You also may need to bend the hardware to allow for the guard to be positioned and the screws to go through all of it. It helped having another helmet w/ guard to see how to position the hardware."

Tricky to get on!
Date : April 29, 2009
"I agree with the other comment that it is very heavy for a small child. It pulls the helmet forward, but it's better then nothing. Also, make sure that you have the metal tabs going in the right direction, or the mask will not fit. When installing, first screw in sides and then when you install the top screw that is on the bill, place the screw through the tab and then the nut. This might sound greek to you now, but you'll see what I am saying. One last thing. On the instructions it says that the tabs go on the very bottom of the sides of the mask...NOT True! Place the tab on the middle section of the sides of the mask. I hope this saves time for the next person who buys one. Have a great ball season!"

Too heavy
Date : April 02, 2009
"Good mask, but not for a T-Ball'er. Mask is way too heavy for the helmet...it makes the helmet drop in the front. Remember, kids have to be able to see the ball to hit it. Also, the instructions seem to be incorrect. It says the top screw should be inserted from the top. There's no way this could work, so I screwed it in from the bottom and now it's on fine. Maybe a better material for a T-Ball'er would be aluminum... It would have been a good price if not for the shipping costs."
